LuLaRoe, we have all heard of it. But we have all wondered- “is it worth it?” Buttery soft, modest clothing, sounds worth it. I can’t lie. I won a pair of their leggings in a giveaway, one size. Yeah, no. One size does not fit long legs like mine. And I am not curvy so the tall and curvy won’t work either. While the waist fit great and the leggings really are oh so soft, they are capris on me. Granted, I have a weird shaped body where my legs are way longer than they should be so it is totally my fault, BUT everyone is obsessed with the leggings (and for good reason because they are so comfy) and those didn’t work for me so I just stayed away from LLR after that. Their sizing intimidated me and I was worried I wouldn’t find something that fit. Boy was I SO SO wrong!! INSERT: I do still wear the leggings, just with high boots haha! They are too comfy and cute to just not wear ha. Then, my cute best friend, Whitney Garrett, whom I have literally known my entire life told me I needed to try the other clothing that they offered. I was hesitant and she knew it, but I trust Whitney with my life so I knew that she would not tell me that LLR clothing was worth the investment, if they really weren’t. She sent me a Cassie skirt, a perfect T and a Julia dress to try out!
Let me preface- I am not big on patterns. If I am going to spend that much money on clothing, I want a good, timeless piece OR a way freaking cool pattern (saw a pair of cheeseburger leggings and almost bought them even though they would be capris on me). No in betweens haha! SO obviously, LLR is known for their patterns. Whitney knew this about me (because remember, BFFs since literal birth) so when I opened the package and saw a pattern I almost died. “HOW am I going to post about her business when I actually don’t like patterns?” BUT then I actually pulled out the patterned pieces. And I am IN LOVE. It is so flattering. The dress has little leaves (I think that’s what they are?) on them and is so cute for fall! It’s patterned but still simple. And oh so easy to match. I love love love it. I love the fit, the length, the pattern and of course, how soft it is. It is like wearing a night gown while still being fitted! It is also stretchy so it will be perfect to wear when I am pregnant too! I rotate between wearing it alone and wearing it with a sweater on top. I wear it with boots and with sandals. That’s another reason I love this dress. It is so versatile! You can layer it to create different looks!
The perfect T that Whitney chose for me is from the LLR Disney collection. My Blake is OBSESSED with Mickey Mouse. Whitney knew this so she found a Mickey piece that would also be simple enough to fit my style. She nailed it. I’m crazy about it, it is just so fun! And I am not one to wear characters. It is patterned yet so simple-ish at the same time. I love that I can go from wearing it on a Saturday to run errands to going to church to going to a gallery showing just by changing my bottoms and either tying the shirt or leaving it down. I have worn mine down with pants, tied with pants, down with leggings, tied with skirts, down with skirts and tucked in to skirts. Again, so versatile! My favorite though is to tie it with high waisted jeans.
I saved the most comfy for last. This skirt ya’ll. Oh it is Heaven. Again, so soft. But what I love the most is that it is also really light. It feels like I am wearing nothing. I love high waisted skirts but I don’t love how they can get uncomfortable on my belly. Not the Cassie, I don’t even know how it is so comfy. Also, not going to lie, it looks like it is going to be too big when you hold it up, then you put it on and it fits like a glove. I seriously think it has some voodoo that just conforms to your body as soon as it feels body heat and just knows all the right places to go. Not only is it comfy in all of those ways, but the length is so perfect that I am not constantly pulling at it to make sure it isn’t too short like I always have to do with other skirts, because remember… long legs. It also doesn’t ride up… just realizing that as I write this haha! I can’t say it enough, this skirt is magic. And to think, it was what I was least excited about when I opened the package!
I only told Whitney my sizing in regular clothing and she did the rest. She nailed my sizes which is super impressive. And she picked out all of the pieces as well as the styles. You can go to Whitney with the same thing, only your sizes and she will do the rest for you to style an amazing outfit that fits your taste and your body type! It’s like having a personal shopper! She is incredible!
This girl is officially converted. The comfy-ness along with the “buttery softness” make this clothing worth the little bit of extra cash that you could save buying from somewhere like Old Navy. I mention that because that is what I always brought up when I asked if it was worth the money. I wanted to support my friends but I also wanted to support my family by not spending money. I had always planned on buying an Amelia, because I won’t find a nice dress like that anywhere else for cheaper but a t-shirt, I thought why spend the extra on a stinking shirt? I have learned that quality and comfort far exceed the small amount POSSIBLY saved. And in reality, the other stores clothing just don’t compare. And let me add, I am extremely careful with money (like probably too careful) and even I am saying it is worth it! I have realized that in all of my clothes I always reach for the softest t-shirts to wear every day, even if they are ugly. Now with LLR I reach for those pieces and they aren’t ugly ha! I call that a win and getting my moneys worth out of something! I love that with LLR you can combine style with comfort- cuz ya’ll all know I am frumpy hahah! Now I can be frumpy without looking frumpy!
